The Baltic Energy Innovation Centre was founded on the 12th of July 2017 by Institute for Biogas, Waste Management & Energy, Lithuanian Energy Institute and Renewable Energy Technology International AB.
The Baltic Energy Innovation Centre is a non-profit research organisation participating in national and international R&DD activities focused on innovative energy technology in general, and renewable methane related development in particular.
The establishment of the Baltic Energy Innovation Centre was made possible through financial support by the Swedish Institute.

SynFerm is a research and development project co-financed by the Swedish Energy Agency related to efficient syngas fermentation of gasified woody biomass.

CarbonNeutralLNG is a Horizon Europe project related to electricity enhanced biomass gasification, catalutic and biological methanation, and liquefaction.

D-Twin Baltic is a seed funding project co-financed by the Swedish Institute. The project revolves around Digital Twins and Artificial Siblings as cross border technology transfer tools.
New project April 2022!
LoCaGas is a seed funding project within the INTERREG South Baltic Sea Programme.
The project revolves around power production from low calorific energy gases, such as landfill gas and off-gases with low methane content.
The project has received funding from the European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg South Baltic Programme.
